My hero, my dad
In my youth, I once saw
A hero who fears no foe
He carried shimmering sword and amour
And helped the sick and the old
He was the air around me
And he could change a high from a low
Soon he became my hero.
As time unwind into years,
Reality coldly knocks on my door
Funny it may seem,
Fairytales no longer came into line.
Peter pan and Robin Hood,
Were just illusions
And my hero
turned out to be only a man
No doubt born in flesh and blood
Exposed of vulnerabilities
And drowning slowly in a flood
Shame, the man used to be a hero
My hero.
